North Carolina committed no Violations

The NCAA also recently said they would form a committee to review the shoe company scandal and have a full report by April...conveniently after the NCAA Tournament.

What a joke

Precedent is set. Time to create some fake classes.

Really though...the NCAA logic is that as long as non-athletes benefit as well then its not an improper benefit to just the student-athletes so its not a violation. That's how they decide?

I'm going to go back to Iowa for my doctorate and have Fran get me a shoe deal with Nike so that he can give some 2019 5-star recruit a shoe deal as well.

They're seriously letting schools like North Carolina police themselves. Brilliant! I can't possibly see how this could go wrong

North Carolina is trying to be creative, allowing minority athletes to stay in school, pass a few classes and perhaps get a "degree" and make money for the school..all of this is OK...because of racism...

I bet the NCAA is glad Penn State backed down and accepted their punishment. They probably could have fought it and won, sadly. Which probably explains why they ended their sanctions early.

UNC stood up to the NCAA and the NCAA buckled.

The NCAA is literally saying it is fine for schools to commit widespread academic fraud, because it wasn't only student-athletes. That's literally what they are saying, literally.

Time to divest the whole notion of student-athlete in the US. Move all sports to some club level format. Kids can sign pro contracts whenever both parties agree.
Trash the charade of this current system.
Worst of all is the manipulation of minority athletes that takes place. After these kids are done playing, what employable skills do they leave UNC, Louisville, etc with?
Major pukefest.

They're also saying that they can't do anything about it because its up to the member institutions to decide what classes they can or can't take.

basically schools can create a bunch of fake classes that all of their players take. Then put 5 non athletes in those classes as well (hint hint: donor's kids) and everything is legal, everyone remains eligible, and everyone is happy.
