This was an article from Mike Hlas earlier in the year. I don't know if he was blasting Iowa, but he was pointing out the schedule was not good.

Mike Hlas has been on this all season, as he has been in the past. I am NOT picking on him...my favorite sports writer in Iowa. He approaches it with a sense of humor. I can't recall the guy's name from the ICPC, but its one, or both, of the usual suspects.

So Hlas approaching it with a sense of humor and a couple of yuks from the ICPC talking about it means the local media is "blasting" the Hawks non-con schedule? Interesting.

Who exactly is "blasting" Iowa for their non-con schedule?

Our noncon schedule sucks. When you don't play a ranked team (though I guess Wichita State was one for a bit) and you do play a bunch of sub 300 ranked teams it's bad. The BIG is tough enough though that it really doesn't matter. The noncon schedule just means that we aren't getting in at 8-10 in conference and we're likely a bubble team at .500 but that could have been the case even with a tougher noncon anyways.
