He did a ton of damage in the 1st half of that game. In fact all the damage he did was they never even targeted him in the 2nd. Kittle had a game like that once. So frustrating for coaches and QBs both but I mean why outsmart yourself and go away from him? Then again their coach sat on 2 TOs late in the game where he coulda saved himself some clock too. Similar to what ISU did. Those TOs can help you if you know how to use them. Coaches can be strait up their own worst enemies sometimes.

Anyone know if Gostkowski is a free agent yet? Can't remember the last time a kicker missed 3 FGs and an extra point. That was hard to watch. To his credit the 25 yarder that he did manage to make was clutch lol.
If he wasn't a 10 plus yr vet or whatever he is with the track record he's got he woulda had to walk home after that... My guess is they don't cut him over it but he'll be on a short leash... Kickers all over were bad this week. Lots of missed makeable fgs.

Agreed I think a lot of that has to due with no preseason games and a crazy preseason. That said maybe they'll let him kick everything from 25 and in and then go out and find another leg, they're out there.
I doubt the 2 kickers thing. Roster spots are too valuable for teams to carry 2 of them. They often have a practice squad guy so they can slide em right in when something just like this or an injury happens. But just about next to no teams suit up 2 kickers on game days.
I wonder what Recinos has been up to wasn't he still trying to do it?

Sorry the sarcasm couldn't have been detected in my post. It just kills me that with the amount of FA kickers out there there giving him a second game to prove himself. While he's definitely had a hell of a career if I'm a GM it'd be hard not to be bringing guys in for an audition.

That was a tough catch by Fant. That ball was humming and Noah had to reach back across his body and he had a defender draped all over him.

True, but at that point he'd had numerous seasons with them to solidify himself. I'm not saying I think he should necessarily be pink slipped, but it was first game with the team. Not the way you want to start a new era.

Yeah they did a shovel pass in the first half (that got stuffed) to Jake Butt on 4th and goal from the 1 with Fant not even on the field - what a dumb choice. Almost as bad as not running Marshawn Lynch!
What a dumb play call that was too. So much traffic in the middle of the field it had no chance. That ended up deciding the game too. I'm not sure who their OC is but man feed Fant till they start doubling him which they weren't. I don't remember seeing a play in the 2nd half where the Qb looked his way initially. Just classic outsmarting themselves. That rookie Bama receiver had a couple good plays but also a couple big drops too.

Haha yup. I think the guy is that legit. I mean tell me why he can't be as good as Kittle in the passing game? He's faster then Kittle if anything he's not slower. He's a little taller long arms. His ceiling is really darn high. I love TJH too. He's more similar to Kittle in that he blocks well too. I think Kittle is more of an animal breaking tackles, Fant generally would go down on first contact in college, or would just try to run by people. If you look at the fumble by MGIII in the first half of that game, it was because Fant missed a block. When the ball hit the ground Fant just kind of stood there. He had a slim opportunity to dive on the ball but he didn't even make an effort to. He doesnt seem to be the kind of guy to make sacrifices for his team, I could be wrong of course. Kittle on the other hand seems to be quite the opposite.
He could still, and likely will, be a great TE of course and I will be rooting for him.
