No Respect from this Nebby beat writer

I thought I would go and check out what material is out there from the Nebby side of things on Friday's upcoming game, and this link says it all. They do not respect us. Not one bit. Look for yourself, as I wanted to leave a comment but their site doesn't allow that.

Barfknecht's Big Ten Rankings, Nov. 25 - Omaha.com

Maybe Jon can get this to Morehouse or somebody who can relay this crap to the Iowa staff. I get that we haven't beaten them yet, but in each of the 2 games, especially last year, we had a chance to get up on them and really put the pressure on them and failed to execute. Time to do it on Friday and get their respect. Run the ball down their throat unless they show they can consistently stop it.

This thread disappointed me as my hopes were placed EXTREMELY high that I would come out of it hating Nebraska even more...but the only thing I can make fun of is the last name "Barf Neck"... :(

Sorry to disappoint, as it wasn't my intention. I do see it surprising thought that this guy can put Minnesota ahead of us considering the schedules and the head to head factor. Just goes to show that they only watch Husker games are not as educated as they like to think...just like most of their arrogant fan base.

As bad as we know Minny is though, they had a nice streak going. He probably didn't look much further than that.

Minney is one of the bottom 5 teams in the Conf. Other than Purdue, that was one of the easiest wins we had all season in a year where very few wins came easy.

heck Minney didn't even score against Bucky offensively.

I wouldn't expect a lot of respect from Nebraska writers or fans. Iowa hasn't earned it with their two losses against them. Go into Lincoln and stomp them hard in front of their home crowd then Iowa gets some respect.

Minnesota defensive end Ra'shede Hageman was out with injury for the Iowa and Michigan games. He may be one of the better pass rushers in college football. The guy is a freak. Minnesota's defense with him is a totally different animal. Add to that their offense has been fairly good all year. They have improved as the season has gone on. They've stayed healthy, which is a must for a team without much depth. They've won games.

I have lived in Omaha for the last 5 years and I have to admit the local writers don't give the bugeaters too many passes. They are objective for the most part. Which of course leads their fans to claim the media is against them. The Lincoln press is another story.

Hageman played against the Hawkeyes..

Hageman played against Iowa, and had 4 tackles. He also played and had 3 tackles against Michigan.

In fact, he has played in every Minnesota game this year. I have no idea where you are getting your information.

Pretty sure Nebby and Minnesota are listed ahead of Iowa becasue while their conference records are all equal, Nebby and Minny's overall records are better than ours.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons to get pumped about Friday's game, but this article isn't one of them.

Edit: Nebby's conference record is better than Iowa and Minny's. Now I'm really baffled as to why the OP takes issue with this article. If anything they guy is dissing Nebby over Minny.

Making up crap like this to denigrate Iowa's win over the Gophers sounds like someone with an agenda...oh yea, an anti-KF agenda. It is very weak sauce.

The one thing about his comments that I do not agree with is that Iowa does not have good QB and that Iowa's failure to recruit a top notch QB is what has held them back. Jake is error-prone but still a solid QB. Ricky,Vandy,Drew and Brad Banks have had their good moments. Not the problem for Iowa football.

I am looking at it from him even having Minnesota ahead of either team. It's kicking sand in our face with having Minnesota ranked ahead of us. If anything, have Nebby where Minnesota is, Iowa where Nebby is and Minnesota where we are, at a minimum. Minnesota's schedule is weak and outside of Michigan, who have they beat? Until we beat Nebby, he should have them ahead of us.

I'd argue it could be Nebby, Minny then Iowa.Iowa and Minnys B1G record is the same, but Minny has the better overall record, ergo they get listed before Iowa. You can make a case Iowa should be listed ahead of Minny becasue the B1G records are the same, but the tie-breaker goes to the head to head, in which case Iowa beat Minny. But to jump to the conclusion the writer is giving Iowa the shaft is a huge leap.
