No Hawkeyes to be found

So the Iowa State football team boards buss to head to Marshalltown. They choose one badly damaged house and in what seems like a very brief moment the destroyed yard looks orderly again. Huge trees cut up and hauled away. Matt Campbell was running a huge chainsaw and doing extreme heavy work. I wonder if Kirk knows what a chainsaw is and how to start one. A little bit embarrassed.

Take your bullshit to CyFan.

And you should be embarrassed. If things are so desperate for your garbage team that you have to come to a rival board to shit post about them picking up garbage then there must not be much of note with your football squad to talk about. Enjoy your shitty water in Lames.

Ha ! Rich. You know better. Been on this board for a long time and if you read my history you would know better. Gald to see you have a heart for the Marshalltown folks. I'm just a hawk fan who lives near Marshalltown who wonders why the F@(K Iowa didn't send players to help out in the towns that needed help.

Good for them. Any kindness done on behalf of another person is always a good thing for everyone involved.

Given that Marshalltown is a easy 45 minute commute from/to Ames, I am not surprised that the Iowa State team would be there. Iowa State and Northern Iowa are also a bit more of a local draw than Iowa.
Distance shouldn't matter. It didn't for HS schools in NW Iowa that are FAR FAR farther way and they shoed up as well. Marshalltown has always been a Hawkeye town.

Iowa has a pretty rich history of community service. I don't know if they are involved in Marshalltown or not but I'm sure they are supporting in some way.

Why are you using a terrible situation to bash someone? And using the good deeds of some people to tear down someone else?
That’s abhorrent.

Are you helping Marshalltown?

Dear precious,
Maybe we are preparing for the season while your teams are preparing for scout badges? We are content with staying miles away from a place where professional rescue and recovery teams exist to help in these disasters. Perhaps its why your team has performed more like a club badminton team than a successful football team over the years. Enjoy your hugs. We will be the ones stepping on your throats in September. Love, The Hawks.

I didn't see ISU sending supplies to their conference mate in Oklahoma when tornados leveled a couple of towns.
I saw Iowa sending multiple truck loads.

Odd twist to this thread. Seems like the OP was bothered by only seeing ISU players there and seeing the good PR that spins out for them, such as the coach with a chain saw.

My daughter tells the story of the cyclone football team during the flood in Lames (08?), female students struggling to move stuff out of their flood damaged apartments and asked some of the football team standing around for help. Said they couldn't they had to go fill sandbags. Turns out they showed up for a photo op, filled a few sandbags and then left. Now that wasn't Campbell in all fairness, but things don't change much.

Pretty sure Marshalltown is right down the road from Lames, I'd be embarrassed if the clowns didn't show up that close to home.
