No Bowl game....unacaptable

I've gone to every bowl game Iowa has been in for the last 24 years.

Not happy that I wont get to go to one this year.
Not cool.
 
Maybe if we could just get a few more Bowls started..... you know.. so that maybe the upper two thirds of all the teams could go.
 
I mean we all claim that we are a top 20 BCS program.
We claim that the 'inferior' teams we play at the start of the season are a guaranteed win.
Now we claim that its there 'super bowl.
Maybe we lose to these 'inferoir' teams just because we suck.
We've turned into a doormat and the laughing stock of the country.
I'm not happy about it.

We're worse than a laughing stock - nobody really cares.

Well, I can confidently say that any who go around claiming Iowa is a Top 20 BCS Team will get laughed at, so don't do that. You'll only make a damned fool out of yourself!

Secondly, get used to the fact that we didn't lose to *inferior* teams. WE are the inferior team. Did you notice that UNI, the team we beat that we have been kinda' thinking were darned good, so it proved something when we beat them.... lost their opening conference game yesterday. UNI isn't much good this year either, so our victory over them is at a sucky level.

Claiming that playing Iowa is anybody's *Super Bowl* is laughable, and makes the speaker sound like he's probably a little pimple-faced HS freshman. Well, it's sophomoric, anyway. It's stupid.

At this point, you're right.. we are a doormat. I don't know that everybody is laughing at us, but when we make remarks like these above ^ ^ ^ ... that'll be enough to make folks laugh, for sure.

Agree with most of what you said except in regard to UNI not being good. That got beat yesterday by the 4th ranked team in the country (Youngstown St) by a score of 42-35. UNI had a chance to win the game on the last play of the game but was called for pass interference in Youngstown's endzone.
That said.......no doubt that Iowa is an inferior team this year.
 
Iowa obviously isn't a top 20 team, but I do believe Iowa is a top 20 program. Just need to get it back on track.

Yeah, but.. yeah, but.. there are LOTS of top 20 programs, if they can just get on track. They aren't. Neither are we. Neither is hardly anybody in our entire Conference. :-(
 
There's a lot of season left. This loss may be what this team needed. I don't think a bowl game is out of the picture. It's not going to be easy, but we have enough time to turn this around.

That would be great. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. I don't think it will happen, but I'd be happy if it did.
