No bowl game for Iowa?

But in 2007 they went 6-6 (even winning 3 out of 4 final games) and didn't make a bowl. What was the situation there?

In 2007 a 7 win team was required to be picked in front of a 6 win team. That rule is no longer in effect (thankfully). Iowa will land in a bowl, that is a lock.

i think Iowa gets in too. The bowls know that Iowa travels well. Iowa's fan base in the Big-Ten has to be towards the top. That is worth inviting to a bowl.

Iowa is probably staring at the Ticket City Bowl in Dallas, but that bowl could pick Illinois or Purdue potentially over Iowa. But they will not be left out. If the Big Ten can get 2 in the BCS (seems unlikely this year) then we might have a shot at the Texas Bowl.

I'll say it again: just let everybody have the practices, and get rid of some of these crappy bowl games.

NOBODY wants to go to Detroit.

maybe staying home for the holidays is what KF needs to help him get his head out of his @SS, and Barta on it,
as many who defend KF point out he brings in a lot of money to the U of Iowa, wellif they stay home very little money comes in, marketing takes a hit and no merchandise money from the lack of a bowl game
Actually, if they go, the bowl game they go to will cost them more money than it will bring in.

I'd go to detroit...I would go anywhere.

Yeah, have fun with that.

Who cares? If they go 6-6 they don't deserve to go to a bowl game. I don't care if they get another 118 practices.

As a fan I personally would like the the opportunity to watch my favorite team play an extra game. Just saying.

These players started playing football because they loved to play. Getting to play in a bowl game, any bowlgame, is a good thing for them. Are really to the point that we are complaining about making a bowl game.

Sad.

Go Hawks
! Win OR lose!
