No announcement from TJ yet?

I know it’s best not to read into this stuff too much, but the deadline is Monday and we haven’t seen any announcement yet. Everyone else has announced throughout the football world has given their little graphic thanking everyone. Is TJH really thinking about returning?

It would be funny if he never announces anything and quietly let's the deadline pass.

I guess nothing says he has to announce anything. As long as he sends whatever he needs to the NFL, they will know if he is draft Eligible.

Interesting, he played a fair amount in 2017 so it is not like 2018 was his only productive year and that he maybe wants to play two productive full time years of college ball.

I dont know about his family's financial situation etc but if they get an insurance policy and if TJ wants to try to do something special next year with Iowa maybe he is thinking of staying.

Would be so funny if he held a press conference and declared he was entering the 2020 NFL Draft, or if he had a hat with NFL written on it and another with IOWA written on it, then another with TRANSFER PORTAL and had a long dramatic hat putting on gesture. I would recommend he do something crazy like when Dennis Rodman started showing up to events in a wedding dress and announced he was getting engaged to himself, but that is just me.

I have to think the only reason he hasn't declared is because he's strongly considering coming back. If he knows he's going to declare then there's no reason to not have done so by now.

It's been reported that he's been working out in Florida with fellow draft-bound players. Anything's possible, but Iowa media types seem rather confident he's gone.

Yeah, which makes it really weird he hasn't announced? I still assume he is gone even if we don't see anything til Monday.

Actually, what was "reported" is that he stayed in Florida after the game to spend time with family. But he's gone. If not, I gotta figure it's more a friends/family reason than "wanting" to stay another year when the money is there for the taking.

I hope he's gone. There are so many guys on the bench better than him that KF/BF won't play because they consistently refuse to play their best players. Then when they do, they fail to use them properly.

Maybe the kid knows that NFL will still be there next year too. Maybe he wants to stay and get his degree. I wouldn’t blame him if he left, but I could also see where he might wanna stay. Has there ever been a two time Mackey award winner? Would definitely would be the top TE in next years draft. Maybe he feels he’s just happy to be a Hawkeye and wants to stick around and fully enjoy the college experience just one more year. Once you leave, you really can’t get that back. Whatever his decision, I fully support it. We should learn his intentions soon enough.

Actually, what was "reported" is that people saw pics of him in Florida working out with players that were draft-bound after the bowl game.

Lol you think, these Iowa media guys know what TJ is up to when these are the same media people who are afraid to ask Kirk why he ran it on third and seven instead of throw it.
