NIU would have beaten 'bama last night

I admit that I got carried away by excitement and honked the horn of my rental when WE scored the go-ahead TD late.

To the gal who was sitting near my front bumper when this occurred: sorry for deafening you.

A win is a win, but some wins are more winsome that others.

win·some /ˈwinsəm/
Adjective: Attractive or appealing in appearance or character.

It wasn't a winsome win.

A few years back, we had a big scare with an FCS team where we had to block a couple field goals to win. Pretty crazy game and it was in Kinnick also. That was a big set back. I'm trying to remember what happened the rest of that season.

Pretty much the same thing that always happens under Ferentz. We lost to northwestern and in Columbus.

A lot of teams lose in Columbus. Some very good teams, even teams ranked as high as #2 have inexplicable losses to teams like Iowa State even. When I look back at the 2009 season I guess I see it as being more than the Northwestern and OSU games.

Yeah, but if "If's and but's were candy and nuts it'd be Christmas all year round". Translation- Iowa fan will always say, "But if Stanzi didn't get hurt......". Iowa does seem to have more than their fair share of WTF losses in the last 8 or so years.

But I concur with your Title, NIU would have been 'bama last night. It would have been close, like 18-17. OK4P, do you think Iowa's a top 10 team yet or merely top 15? If I had a vote I would have USC 1, 'bama 2, and NIU 3. Sure I agreed NIU would beat 'bama, but 'bama has to get credit for beating up the winningest team of all time.
