NIT

We had opportunities early to pad our resume. Get even one at Creighton, Purdue, Iowa State or Wisconsin and it's a massive signature win.

Obviously more opportunities to come but there are people on this team who need to grow up (basketball wise) quickly. Gonna need to steal three or four on the road and that's a daunting task. Ohio State had one last night at Indiana and let it slip away.

Bottom line is as of now we are on the outside looking in for the NCAA'S for sure. Maybe a dose of NIT humble pie would do for us what it's seemed to do for Wisconsin this year up to this point.

Yes maybe it would be best.

That remaining schedule is tough. Looks like 6 more wins and they will be under .500. Below .500 really shouldn't go to a postseason but in the watered down $$ driven system we have NIT doesn't care about record. If you can get some $$ with attendance in a home game they will pick you.

We won't have 5,000 show up for an NIT home game. We'd have better luck moving it to Moline like we once did in the 1990's when CHA had a conflict.

They did have plenty of solid records last year and Washington State was 17-15 as the worse NIT record. Even the CBI worst record was 16-16. Might be CBI or bust. If they won the B1G tourney then no issue so you have to add a tourney loss. 31 games plus at least 1. Can they go 16-15 and 1-1 in the tourney to get a winning season? Then is that enough for the NIT or are they headed for the CBI?

DePaul?

It is a different world now, having 12000 people show up to a NIT game in the Quad Cities, in the mid 90’s, was an absolute lock…that ain’t happening in 2024.
