They just showed Kinnick's heisman speech and every time I hear his speech it gives me chills even after all the times I have heard it before kick off at Kinnick.
 
I DVRd it, but I'm afraid the basketball game ran too long and I missed some of it. Haven't watched yet.
 
Replayed at 9:30 tonight.

Every time i see a special on Kinnick it puts a lump in my throat, what a player/person he was.

Saw it for the first time tonight after the Iowa bb game and in addition to a lump in my throat I had a tear in my eye. I knew he was a legend but did not realize to what extent.

Excellent work by the Iowa folks and production by the BTN.

Agreed. Excellent work on that show and what a representative for Iowa.

Agree 100%, and I also echo the others above with the chills and choke-up factor generated by Mr. Nile Clarke Kinnick.
I said to my wife, 'honey, you gotta hear this speech...and keep in mind, the guy was a 21 year old college junior.'
She was blown away.
Just for humorous effect, I followed up with, 'I can bring up this year's winner's speech on youtube for comparison, if you'd like?' :eek:
We rolled our eyes in unison.
Nile was truly part of The Greatest Generation and I'm soooo proud that he was a Hawkeye through and through.
 
I don't see how they could possibly top that episode with 6 more icons. Kinnick should be #1, without a doubt.
