Presuming the "89" in your screen name is the year you graduated from Iowa, that puts us a whopping two (2) years apart in age.
Are you "old"? I'm not!
I have no problem understanding all of the brain barf from the youngsters. It's the wholesale butchery of the English language that bothers me. It's emblematic of the dumbing-down of this country.
It's no surprise that we rank so low versus other developed nations in academics.

I think its ok for Facebook, Twitter, cell phones and things of that nature.

I agree its annoying to see it in a professional setting. I've had people send me emails using abbreviations as if they were texting, which I find somewhat pathetic.

And yes, it does lower the standard of the English language to an extent.

I think he is one of the best recruits so far in this class. Very underrated and good pick up for the hawks.

I don't think he is really underrated at all. His offer list is very impressive. After the 5 star guys, I really believe most of the rating systems are irrelevant.
