Nice blast from the past: 2004 highlight reel

Few things. First, whatever happened to Scothawk. I haven't seen anything from him in YEARS. Shoot, this may have been one of the last vids I saw him make. Second, can Iowa please get back to playing at that level and having that emotion? Third, I miss Tate. He made it exciting, that's for sure. And man was that a good defense.

Forgot what it was like to expect Iowa to come out and hit like that. Man I miss seeing the Hawks playing with that attitude.

KF's demeanor seemed a lot different back then on the sidelines too...just had a different feel like we are building something special here. Have to find that chip on the shoulder for the program again and maintain it.

Tate will probably always be my favorite hawkeye... and im sure im in the minority for saying that. some people say bad attitudei say unbelievable desire to win and ultimate competitor.
Tate will always be one of my favorites

Is it possible to watch these games? I watched the bowl, but missed basically every game during the season because it was my first semester of college. College football wasn't on my mind Saturday mornings (or evenings for that matter)

Check out "HawkeyeHistorian" on YouTube. He does a nice job of condensing the games while keeping the original broadcasting calls.

Man I miss having Matt Roth on the D-Line. The way he hits, you'd think the opposing QB had just slept with his sister or something.

It's easy to have the chip on your shoulder...

when you know your defense is going to kick the other team's rear for 4 quarters. I think we fans read a bit too much into a coach's sideline demeanor and what it means for the team's performance. Hopefully we get to the point again where Hawks know they are good and go out there and play like it every week.

I started at Iowa in 2006, so I was a little late to the Tate party, but I never saw much good play from him. Was there something about the 2006 team that differed from his earlier years?

Didnt have any receivers to throw to except for a true frosh in Dominique Douglas. That was also the "fat cat" year and about half the team had given up. Tate also injured an abdominal muscle in fall camp that year and was never 100%, except for maybe the bowl game.

I will never forget all the idiots calling for JC to replace Tate. Ignorant fools. There is a very strong argument to be made that Tate is the 2nd greatest QB in Iowa history behind Chuck Long.

I was younger but.went to all the.games....2004 Tate was special so much fun to watch. Drew tate saw the field.better than any other qb I have ever seen. Just knew where people were, had to have a sixth sense.
