NFP not sold on Riley, thinks McNutt can be starter in the NFL

The Eagles have a need for a big, physical receiver it is there for McNutt to take.

Umm, Rieff won't be playing on the left side unless it's at guard. That's why he was drafted 23rd instead of 3rd. He'll either play either guard position or Right Tackle.

I think it's fair to say that first and second round NFL draft picks at OT are generally projected to be potential LT material. There are a number of starting LT's that were drafted in middle to late rounds. I think his comment was qualified about Reiff's potential.

I'm pretty sure that Schwartz said he was drafted to play left tackle.

Correct. They are projecting him as a LT. Not sure where he'll end up his first year there, but the incumbent LT Jeff Backus is no youngster. He should be a great resource for Reiff to learn from early in his career.

Bunting, who does this analysis, learned at the knee of Russ Lande, who is featured on the BTN's Next Level during the season. Lande did not have Reiff on his list of top ten draft eligible prospects in the Big Ten all season. When he was asked about Reiffs high rating at the end of the year,he said he had a 2nd round tag on him. He even suggested a 3rd round value recently. So, clearly, Lande had no love for Reiff the whole season, and insisted he was not first round material until he was picked in the first round. Now,here is Bunting, his protege, not liking Reiff much either. No shock.

Watching Rieff in the Insight bowl against the Sooners D ends was an eye opening experience. Not only did he get beat that game, but beat bad and more than once. Although, he has a stellar resume and a great Iowa career my feeling is he needs to stay at RT, playing the blindside might get Stafford clipped.

i feel the same with riley as i did bryan bulaga. he is a ready now rt that may someday be a lt but is probably better off staying at rt in his career.

Plenty of picks start at RT until the team feels they can be moved to LT.
