NFL Scouting Combine

I haven't heard much about CJ in my feed? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
He didn't run the 40 or do any agility drills. The stuff he did do was near the bottom of the pack.

The combine doesn't really mean much for QBs unless they're the Russell Wilson/Cam Newton/Ezekiel Elliott type. NFL teams know Beathard isn't athletic at all so they're going to look more at his throwing during pro days and individual camps. I love Beathard as a QB, but I'm afraid he's waaaaaaaaaay over estimating the benefit to playing in Iowa's "Pro Style" offense. That's not the NFL anymore because those kinds of offenses are the exception rather than the norm now. He's really counting on it to make his draft stock shine but I don't think it's going to. Of course guys like Manning and Brady have made huge careers out of a "pro-style" set, but Beathard doesn't have anywhere near the arm strength/accuracy/vision those guys do.

He'll most likely latch on to a practice squad for a couple years and then start his career in the music industry. And god bless him for it, the kid did good things here and deserves success.

Lots of reasons I suppose...but Beathard was a shell of himself last year...

Hope he makes an NFL career a reality...

CJ has a chance at following either Stanzi's road or even Rudocks. It all depends on where he goes. It doesn't matter at what point he's drafted which will be 5th round at best and maybe not even at all. It all just depends where he goes...
Kittle I think will be a steal for whomever gets him. He's a faster version of Dallas Clark and a better blocker. I just think there are NFL teams after seeing him at the combine and watching his tape will hope he falls to them in the 3rd round or so. There are a couple other TEs that are physical freaks that'll go ahead of him but I'm not so certain will have more of an impact then Kittle when it's all said and done. He may just end up being the best Iowa TE with an NFL career when it's all over. Obviously Clark got a ring and playing in Indy with Manning and that group had a ton to do with that. Depending on where Kittle goes he could really make some waves.

I agree with your CJ comments.
I wish the best for Kittle. But your claims are plain silly, especially in light of the fact Clark was the better college TE. Probably want to save the hyperbole until he's had a chance to prove himself in the NFL.

The reasons why Kittle didn't have a better college career can be pointed to Greg Davis and injuries... He's shown that he can play. He had more TDs then Clark in college. I just really think his game will translate to the NFL really well and if he gets to the right team look out. The sky is the limit for him.

Better than Dallas Clark? Yeesh! Thems big shoes to fill. I don't know that 2/10th of a second faster 40 time means a guy that hasn't had an NFL snap yet is going to be better than a Pro bowl and possible Hall of Famer. I like the enthusiasm, but don't put all your eggs in the 40 second basket. Kittle is obviously a better athlete then we even knew, but being an athlete is only part of the equation. Plenty of stud athletes never make it in the league. I would be concerned with Kittle's durability at this point. Injuries resulting in missed games both of his upperclassmen seasons. Kind of like Moeaki. Super talented, couldn't stay healthy. I hope Kittle is successful but I will only consider anyone against Dallas Clark after a similar body of work (not expecting any time soon).
