NFL Scouting Combine

Kittle runs a 4.52 which is 3rd best for Tight Ends. Also 3rd best for Tight Ends for broad jump at 11 feet. Vertical was 35" which was 6th best for Tight Ends.

They said on the broadcast that Kittle's broad jump beat the old best for TEs...he was just unfortunate to have two guys beat his distance on the same day.

From what I saw from the routes, Kittle didn't look bad, but his footwork & balance could've looked better. What kind of warmups do these guys go through prior?

Some people think I am crazy, but I think the tight end production went down during the Greg Davis era.

Iowa went from tight end U. to tight end who in the Greg Davis era. I'll be happy to see the return of the tight ends this fall.

George Kittle just made alot of money. 4.52 and he blocks. You know damn well that some offensive coordinator is thinking about him in the seam with a linebacker chasing him.

TE production during the Greg Davis era:
2016: 32 rec, 389 yds, 5 TD
2015: 56 rec, 705 yds, 7 TD
2014: 40 rec, 445 yds, 5 TD
2013: 49 rec, 569 yds, 8 TD
2012: 60 rec, 547 yds, 2 TD

TE production during last 5 years of KOK era:
2011: 39 rec, 411 yds, 5 TD
2010: 52 rec, 631 yds, 2 TD
2009: 45 rec, 526 yds, 5 TD
2008: 58 rec, 785 yds, 6 TD
2007: 37 rec, 409 yds, 8 TD

Average TE production under Davis: 47 rec, 531 yds, 5.4 TD

Average TE production under KOK: 46 rec, 552 yds, 5.2 TD

I know, surprised me too.

Alabama's Tim Williams admitted to failing "a few" drug tests while at 'bama. Not suspended, though. Did sit out a half for gun charges, though.

I don't think we had a TE under KOK that ran a 4.52 though. KOK knew how to use a TE when the TE was your best reciever. Maybe Greg did too, maybe not. It just never felt like we used them enough.

Jaleel's 5.38 was the 2nd slowest of the year, and his 10 yd split is the worst in the history of the combine @ DL.

This really surprised me. I thought he would perform much better. I thought he would be real fast given his size....period.
