NFL - Please Don't Give LA Another Team

I mean seriously LA has had about 3 chances with an NFL team. As a fan, I'm sick of seeing teams rotate thru that city every 5 yrs. Freaking give it up.

They haven't had an NFL team since 1994. The Raiders spent 13 years there, and the Rams were there for about 50. It hasn't quite been the carousel you're making it out to be.

also consider the reason everyone left was because of stadium issues which are no longer a problem

Bills
Chargers
Raiders
Vikings
Jaguars
Rams
Saints-were on the list, but not anymore.

One of those six teams, maybe even two of those teams will be in LA within 10 years.

Would hate to see a long time team like Buffalo move to LA.

NFL has made a lot of dumb moves lately. Super Bowl in NY, games in London, you can't tackle the QB.

when old man wilson dies, the bills will be sold to the highest bidder, his family has no interest in keeping ownership. i don't doubt the new owner will take a really long look at relocation. i hope it doesn't happen, but i definitely wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, the Colisseum was even outdated for NFL teams in '94. When the new stadium is built, and especially with its downtown location (near the Staples Center) there will be a team there. I think it will be the Chargers moving up the coast or possibly Jacksonville. I think the Vikings ultimately stay in the twin cities, and I also think if the Bills are moved they end up in Toronto before they end up in LA.

Although, I think a portion of the reason there hasn't been a team in LA for almost 20 years now is that owners could use the city as leverage for new stadiums or renovations. IMO, that is what is going on in Minnesota right now. Also happened with Seahawks when they got a new stadium out in Seattle. Build us a new stadium or we're moving to Los Angeles!

LA isn't a city. It's a collection of slightly dissimilar neighborhoods surrounded by a bunch of suburbs that have no singular identity.
In other words, it's a vast wasteland.
No offense, Hobo.

You don't have to tell me. With a few exceptions, LA is a dirty, ugly, crowded place. Consistent Mediterranean weather, which is the only major selling point for living here, only goes so far. If I had no long-term career prospects here, I'd leave in a week.

Anyway, another "selling point" for building the new stadium (with what money?) is that it'll pump cash into downtown LA through tourism and nightlife. The only problem with this is that, as anyone who has ever been to downtown Los Angeles can attest, the only things to do downtown are 1) go to the Staples Center and 2) get robbed. Good luck with that one, Los Angeles.

They are the biggest market without a NFL team. There really needs to be a team in LA.

Can we ship the Packers there? :D

Bills are most likely to end up in Toronto if they go anywhere. I also don't believe Kroenke is interested in moving the Rams. Vikings are likely to hold out as long as it takes to get a stadium, too, imo. Raiders? Well, Al Davis is flat out unpredictable.

But I'd say it's really down to the Chargers or Jaguars.

As for the stadium, it looks like it's going to be built by AEG (who also owns the Staples Center), whether there's a team or not. And it's going to be built on land adjacent to the convention center & Staples Center.
