That has the makings of the worst Iowa backcourt since the Little Licksters.
 
This February collapse is as brutal as anything I can imagine. At least next year expectations will be tempered and anything above .500 will be considered gravy.
 
With RDM being the only one who can drive the ball and him being gone 80% of our points are going to come from the 3 pointer and we all know how that's going to end.
 
This was Brutal Next year will be a return to the who cares syndrome. I know there are some that think McCaffrey is a good coach, but the fact is that with decent talent we have tanked as badly as I have seen.
I hate to think we have to start over once again because that means at least several years of watching Iowa state in the tournament and Iowa in the dumpster, but I think next year may be Fran's last.
 
Yeah but Woodbury will have another year under his belt and will really come into his own.

This is the saddest thing I have seen in years. 2-3 years of recruiting to find real leaders, assuming coaching is good enough.
 
I think next year's team will be better. I think they'll play better as a team and I think with some of the player or players moving on it will be addition through subtraction.
 
Gotta find a scorer and someone to drive the ball to the hoop...to replace Marble. If they can they'll be fine. Maybe Jok can be that guy.

Just hopefully not in the form in some guys wanting out. If Gesell, Uthoff, or Oglesby decides their talents would be better utilized elsewhere this season might be flushed out but the bowl is going to fill up real fast again.
 
I just hope I care enough to tune in. I've gone from excited to mad to frustrated to apathetic to indifferent with this program. And that just since February.

You'll tune in. We all will, regardless. I did the last 10 years, and even with this awful finish, this year was still far better than many of the last 10.

I hate to agree, but unless there is marked improvement or some other unforeseen event, i tend to agree with this statement. Maybe without marble dominating the ball, the others will step up. That being said, If i was marble i would be doing the same thing because i don't see any other back court guys who are able to beat anyone off the dribble and get their own shot. If marble passes off, who makes a shot with any consistency?
 
I disagree. This season reminds me a lot of 2001-2002. Good individual players but the loss of the team leader from the previous year (Oliver & May) proved far more devastating that anyone could have anticipated.

Just like in 2002-2003 when Iowa improved of its conference win total, I believe Iowa will have a better conference record next year than the 9-10 they achieved this year.

Dickerson is already showing leadership by squashing Nebraska clowns on social media (per Hawkcentral) and I believe next year we will see more of a team than this group of individuals.
 
Next year we aren't gonna be able to rely on anyone to "make" points. Fran will be backed against the wall to get more creative. And defensive effort will be that much more needed. I don't think we'll be worst than 2012-2013 season. Maybe about same as this year. Which would mean three years of about the same... Unless some ncaa surprise happens.. And the MOJO, chemistry on this team doesn't point to it.

Marble was yelling at Gabe often today. White was a zombie emotional. No leader was Apparent.
