Two years ago, we had Gatens on the court and he knocked down many huge shots for us in games that were close. Matt had a fantastic senior season, and was the reason that we upset IU, Wisky, etc. We did not really replace him the last two seasons with a knock-down shooter from the arc.
You don't simply wake up one day and say to yourself "I'm going to be the clutch player the team needs." There are a lot of great scorers in basketball who are simply not clutch players. Some guys in the NBA can shoot 50% during the flow of the game, but when the game is on the line it looks like they are trying to drop a basketball into a coffee can.
