Next Loss After Losing Chris

I remember that night, I was at my Great Aunt and Uncle's house in Keystone and we couldn't believe it. Everybody huddled around the TV and we just went silent.

Today that Uncle was buried and it is fitting that it was today on Street's 20 year anniversary, you can't find a bigger Iowa fans than this Aunt/Uncle, sad day.

It is ironic how things play out in this funny game of life.

I was still in high school then and a little more emotional about games; I was pretty sure they were the most important things in the world. :) That probably has something to do with it, but in all the years since, I've never taken a Hawkeye loss in any sport as hard as that one. It's the only loss that has ever actually brought me to tears (and very nearly my mother, too).

And rational or not, I still very much dislike Andy Kaufman. Then again, it's easy to dislike an Illini, so maybe it's just that. :D
