MSU still #1, ISU up to 17th. Michigan is 22nd, God knows why.

I hope that's how it is every year. This rivalry has all kinds of potential in a state that produces underrated basketball talent and has a pair of great coaches who know both how to get what they need and develop players to fit their systems. Won't ever be Duke-UNC, but this could definitely become a very relevant rivalry nationally.

I love em and for three years have been touting this year as the year of the hawkeye in basketball, however we have got to beat a quality team before we garner real respect. I understand that our next opponent has some really good guard play but if we are back we should still win by double digits. Lose and it's egg all over our faces. Go hawks and kick azz!!!!! I did see the tournament listed on my Uverse channel guide on a NBC sports channel with the game starting at around 700 pm eastern time from Paradise Island. It didn't give the teams yet but the location and time sound right so I have the DVR set to record what I expect to be the Hawkeyes playing.

Not only great atmosphere, will hopefully do great things for keeping in state talent IN STATE (from a recruiting perspective). I've said it before and I'll say it again, having both programs healthy is the best thing possible for Iowa basketball. I might be the minority, but unless they are playing the Hawks, I celebrate all programs (UNI, Drake, Iowa State) so long as they are playing other teams.
