New Where Are They Now Series

There are two players I have always wondered about since they graduated. One is JC LoveJordan,(?) a wide receiver from the early 80s and the other being Nick Bell, the 1990 rendition of Weisman who was the thunder to Tony Stewarts lightning.

Mitch Smith will be publishing a series of 'Where Are They Now' items for the site, something that has been on my wish list for a long time. The first is Jovon Johnson, who is still playing ball and doing well

Few Hawkeye players got my grumpy dander up like Jovon Johnson did in his first year. While 'good', I just remember him getting burned bad on the shoulda plays.

Few Hawkeye players consistently improved so much so that I had to completely and utterly eat crow for my completely misguided and wrong perceptions about their ability as I did with Johnson.

And that says a lot, because one of the reasons I love my Hawks is their ability to make stuff from what most people think of as "nothing". 4th string fullbacks that carry us into New Year's Day Bowl games. Decent quarterbacks who push the envelope of astoundingly good. Walk-ons who become complete and utter difference makers. Small towns that produce NFL players that New York, NY would have to produce something like 44,000 NFL players to keep pace statistically.

Very much looking forward to this. Welcome Mitch. Maybe my memory is going but I thought J. C. Love Jordan was a running back who played the majority of his career in the late 70's.

I stand corrected. I just looked him up and I stand corrected on all counts.
