How many of you have adapted you thanksgiving weekend to the new scenario?

I hope we continue the IOwa Nebby game on friday. We have planned on a huge family gathering on that gameday. When In lincoln a few of us will trek out on friday to the game. When in Iowa city the whole clan plans on doing the tailgate turkey fry and attending the game. My bunch is about 25 people.

It sounds like a wonderful family tradition.

PS we have corporate connections with tix at memorial stadium.

Yup having thanksgiving dinner in iowa...than starting the trek to Lincoln as soon as the dishes are clean!! Cant wait' going to be a.great atmosphere win or lose

My wife's family gets together for Thanksgiving week every year, basically the annual get together. The Iowa-Nebraska game is an exclamation point for the week this year, and we're all pretty excited to have it on Friday. So it appears like it will be something of a family tradition for us, too.

The wife usually goes out black friday shopping and i put the ham and bean soup on. Bust out the christmas stuff and wait. Game comes on and we start settin up the tree and all the stuff around the house. Fresh Butter Cornbread with ham and bean soup. Game usually gets over around 8 or so. Its nice, but i might try to go to iowa city next year. I think it would be fun.

A buddy from high school is a diehard Husker, so him and I are making the trek down as soon as dinner is complete. Hopefully we can stay awake after all the turkey on thursday!!;)

I just know that with the Packers and Lions playing on Thursday and the Hawks and Huskers playing on Friday that it will be a fun couple of days.

it's gonna be a neat tradition...i really hope we win our share...we dont want them beating us all the time...

I used to work on Black Fridays...I've already told my boss that everyone better pitch in and get sh!t done on Wednesday, cuz I ain't settin' foot in the place again til monday! Thank you Huskers and Hawks, for giving me back my 5 day weekend! :D

the stock market is open until noon on black Friday, so I'll be at work until 1pm. Good times :(

additionally, this year it falls on my wedding anniversary ... yeah me :(

I already confirmed with the wife and the boss, when this game is in IC, I'm not working and our anniversary dinner is tailgate-style, respectively

Hate to burst your bubble, but that sounds like a 4 day weekend to me.

I wonder how the tailgateing will work next year. For us we usually come in on friday night with the motorhome like most motorhome people do. But I dont think they will have lots open on thanksgiving day as they would have to have attendants there. But also on the other hand the reason they let motorhomes park the night before is the congestion they cause so hard to tell maybe they will just leave lot open on thanksgiving day and move people out that dont belong on game day.

this tradition is not new to nebby fans just different foe, and thus, I would guess the stadium workers will be prepared for "early" tailgaters. Id rather they played on saturday, friday is still a workday for many. I hate losing the extra day, but then it is Hawkeye football.
