New Ranking are out

FSU should be still ranked they barely got beat on the road against a ranked team without their starting QB.

I guess i don't see the problem here...

FreeShoesU has lost two straight. They should NOT be within sniffing distance of teh Top 25.

Yep. People on this board would be screaming if we only had 10-pt or less losses to #1 at home and a ranked conference foe on the road and dropped from #5 to receiving votes.

If the voters are ranking the way many people complain they should be--objectively--then there are few of them who should reach the conclusion that FSU isn't one of the 25 best football teams in the country right now.

FSU lost a close game to Oklahoma. They lost their starting QB during the game and had a true freshman who kept them in it. They lost to Clemson at Clemson again without their starting QB.

I have seen enough of them to believe they are still a top 25 team and even if they don't have their QB come back they'll end there.

We'll have to agree to disagree. A team loses two in a row--to any opponents--in September, they get booted from the T25. It's just the way it is.
There are other teams on the rise, as FSU declines.

i could see staying in after losing to the #1 team but losing to a team that was barely in the top 20 to be in the ranking means you have to beat the teams that are ranked below them no matter what the excuse, if the QB is hurt, the highly ranked teams should have a QB that is ready to go, how many time do the lose before people go off the press build up, same with MSU losing to a unranked team with 2 losses

They should be called positions, not rankings. It's what have you done lately, not how good are you actually. It is what it is.

on that i will whole heartedly agree, i say wait til the 1st conference game before posting the rankings, after all i believe the bcs poll comes out after 6 weeks, please help me out if i am wrong on that

Problem with preseason rankings is how much the rankings are based on hype. This was supposed to be ND's year, FSU's year, etc. The rankings are pretty naive I must say. Dinardo explained how flawed the coaches poll is, which affects BCS rankings. They should determine the SOS and rankings 7 or 8 games into the season, after conference play has started for all schools.

But if they determined SOS after 7 or 8 games, then what are our friends in Ames going to brag about in the mean time.

I dont think there should be any rankings until we are a few weeks into the conference season....but rankings bs sells and makes money

Thinking like this is why the rankings are an incredibly flawed system. If you're ranked 5th and you lose a really close game against the top ranked team, why should you drop? Why do teams have to automatically drop for losing to teams ranked ahead of them, it doesn't make sense.
