New Mexico out of the top 25

New Mexico lost by 10 on the road to SDSU and then UNLV went in to the 'best arena in the country' and just kicked the living snot out of them by 12. So much for the glory of the man that needs no introduction. They are now 0-2 in conference.

We still suck though.

Somethings will never change.

I wonder if glidinghawk will make his presence again and try to explain how this could be possible.

Won't they have to win their conference tourney to get to the dance, even if they win 20+ games?

That says something.

I don't know for sure, they have some good out of conference wins but I can imagine that they can get away with losing too many more conference game. The strength of that conference is not too good so every loss will hurt them.

The MWC typically will land one, maybe two teams in the NCAA tournament. What NM will need to do is finish in the top 3 of their conference regular season and make it to the conference championship game. If they do this they will almost certainly guarantee a spot in the NCAA tournament. Fail to do this, like they have during alfords tenure at NM, and they will find themselves in the NIT tournament once again.

NM has what could be considered decent wins against teams like Texas A&M and Texas Tech but neither of those teams is ranked in the top 25 nor is either one of those teams an automatic shoe in for the big dance.

NM will have a tough game at home against Utah and then goes on the road. If they lose to Utah, things will unravel rather quickly for them. If they win then they are still above the bubble in my opinion.

BYU, UNLV, NM, SDSU and CSU should be how they finish the regular season.

They beat a Cal team that was ranked in the top 25 at the time...including a win over ISU.

Alford has a good team down there...and I wish Iowa fans could get over the crazy ex-girlfriend stage. We had a lot of fans who acted like crazy b*itches...including fabricating rumors of our basketball coaches infidelity...walking out of the barber shop without paying for his haircut...trying to get a free lawnmower...anything I'm missing. Finally the fans drove him away and now we're going back and trying to rain on the man's parade...get a life.
