Did that happen? I do remember spank not liking the hire (honestly can't remember if that's true or not though) but I don't remember a demand for a firing?

I think after Lick a lot of us were kinda figuring Fran fit into the same mold albeit less successfull national attention wise. I know I wanted Majerius and I think even Reggie Theus was rumored. Who I saw coach tonight. Dude looks like he can still play and I am SO glad we didn't hire him after seeing how he and his team act... wow
 
I seem to remember everyone freaking out, then Fran did a press conference shortly afterwards and everyone grew a Fran-boner.

The image I have in my mind right now is that of an angry Fran face photo shopped on the tip of a dong. It's both horrifying, hilarious and awkwardly arousing.

7. Iowa missed a couple of chances to get an OOC signature win. Their B1G slate is probably the easiest so they need to get a couple of signature conference wins and be at, or above, .500 in conference to get an NCAA invite.

It is funny just how dumb some of those statements were.

I was ticked at what Barta said when Fran was hired, something about moving a different direction getting younger, or something and the age difference between Fran/Lick was one year.

The first thing I thought when Fran got hired was the success he had in the NCAA tournament, that was enough for me. Programs like that have to be able to recruit guys that aren't noticed and be able to teach them something.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Basabe when he was brought on board, but he has proven to be a capable player, so all is well.
