New 4 star OL commit

Even though he is a five-star highly rated recruit I am surprised that Proctor is the starting left tackle in his first season at a place like Alabama. He was a weakness on their line. With all of the recruiting they've done, is this their best option at this point in the season?

No doubt... It's odd that Bama would ever be in a situation where a true freshman should be able to start at LT. If he'd have came to Iowa he wouldn't have here. He woulda been at either guard or RT to start with but he wasn't supplanting Richman day 1 if at all.

Even if Bama just graduated a 5th yr sr at LT they shoulda had 1 or two older guys ready to take over be it a sophomore or RS Soph or JR to do it. Which means either Proctor really is that big of a freak athletically for him to have won the gig. Or... conspiracy theory he was promised the job day 1 by Saban as a part of his sales pitch to get him to flip. Gauging by how he struggled mightily against Texas the other day I'd say the latter could be in play...

That and the money.
