Never mind the bullocks

Problem 1 bad receiver play.
Solution. Good receiver play rb behind Weismann. (bullock)

Problem 2. Two capable big ten rbs. Sitting behind. Bullock
Solution. continue to waste the talent we have by sticking with the current line up

Bullock is a
Smart guy. He can easily handle knowing both positions if he were needed to return to rb. Please give Iowa a chance to win by using him as wr . Use canzeris quickness for more carries. It'll pay off

While I agree that he'd possibly make an impact at receiver, IMO he's a more proven rb then Canzeri. I'd keep him at rb and try to work Canzeri into the passing game. Either way, we've definitely got depth behind Weisman and I like what the future holds.

Bullock is an explosive RB capable of big plays. He has a great burst of speed.

Canzeri keeps running into the backs of his blockers. He appears to have a lot of rust after sitting out all of last year.

I look at this receiving corp, then I look at someone like Canzeri buried on the rb depth chart. He supposedly has good hands, he's quick. Wouldn't he be a tremendous slot receiver? I'm not sure what he's goals are, but his only chance to make the next level would be as a slot.

I think Bullock and Weisman are one of the best back field duos in the NCAA. They complement each other real well. Bullock has surprised me this yr. GO HAWKS!

1. Bullock has dropped his fair share of passes in the last year, too. Not sure how he'd significantly improve the receiving corps at this point.

2. Seriously, Canzeri AGAIN?! He has shown NOTHING to suggest he's a B1G-caliber back; granted, he's not had many opportunities, but people act like we're holding back the next Fred Russell by not playing him.

Bullock has potential, but so far he has not shown me a lot. Dropped passes and low average yard per carry are not helping him. That dropped screen pass against NIU would have been a game changer.

Iowa's receivers are not good. That needs to improve. Worst area on the team, for certain. Coach made a move with the group in making Smith the starter, albeit, a slow decision that could have been made before the opener. The fella he is replacing is a senior that has NEVER shown he has hands...
TE is a concern. Our supposed All-B1G TE is anything but that. No hands and gets tackled easier than anyone on the team. More Hamilton & Duzey PLEASE.
Show me more with Smith & Hillyer. It is their time. They either have it, or they don't. Let's find out Now and see if they do. If not, let's move on... Show me more Vandeberg & McCarron, too.

Canzeri should get some more carries. SAME with Daniels. Giving Weisman that many carries is not going to help this team throughout the season. Daniels can pound it, we have seen it. Share the load... Jordan has potential, I just don't think we have used him the right way. His carries look like they were called for a Weisman or Daniels, and he is not that type of RB. Different play calling for Canzeri may help with his style. Hopefully we will see that change...

The Hawks are so close to fielding a good team. I think the talent & potential are there at - WR, TE & RB. It is up to the coaches to find it, share it & utilize it the most potent & optimum ways, and get this train rolling. We will see.
