Neilson gets some ESPN love

Glad espn gave a Hawkeye some love, because based on their wonderful telecast during the fourth quarter I was almost suprised they weren't in tears as a result of the Michigan losing. To say it seemed unbiased would be a complete joke.

i didn't see this. did he just single out Nielsen? cause we had other people step up even more in my opinion (Binns, Coker, Bernstine)

I always love it when Iowa is on TV just because they're playing a "name" program. The narrative is slanted towards that big program, and then Iowa beats them. I love it.

Ith's thuper! Even shimple Lou Holsch loves it.

Totally agree

nielsen had 13 tackles, a sack, multiple qb hurries and some passes defended. for all the hate people have for him on this site calling for a frosh with no experience and terrible pass coverage skills im glad tyler got the love he deserves. plus he was the guy that got pressure on dennard when it mattered on big downs and late. others had big games too but he was huge. him and binns put the defense on their backs.

Tyler played a good game and deserves a ton of credit. Binn's plays were just as good but not as obvious and dont show up in the stats. He held his edge all day, knocked down passes, got pressure on the QB, just a great game!!!!

IMO, Binns had the best game defensively. You could point to a couple of plays that if he were not there, the game might have had a different outcome. Either way it was really a great all around defensive effort.

Didn't he cause Denard to fumble and recovered that fumble?

Yes, but apparently he was tired after doing all of that because the natural progression of the play should've been "sack for 16 yard loss, forced fumble, fumble recovery, AND took it to the house"...jk of course...he did the right thing covering that up before quick little shoelace got back to it.:D

I don't think people were calling for him to be replaced, I'm pretty sure they were talking about the guy who's spot Neilsen took, and then he took Neilsen's spot. I have always thought Neilsen was our best LB.
