I will eat some crow. I thought Iowa would win....I did not expect to see this horrible offensive performance. I think Michigan and Iowa are both non level-champion level teams. Both mid-tier/top 25 fringe teams.
If I were to guess now:
Penn St L
Wisconsin L
and probably another turd in there somewhere.
Just another Kirk Ferentz year. But, we did win on game day in Ames.....so there is that.

ISU is the super bowl. We won. Be happy.
What we saw today is the limitation of a quarterback in a pro style offense that cannot run or throw the deep ball. That's it. It was simple, Michigan sent more defenders than our line could block and gambled that their corners would win the one on one matchups. And they did for the most part. It didn't matter if we ran or threw, they were going to take everyone out anyway. We needed to make them pay with the deep ball and we just can't do it.
Bottom line is, if you have a statue for a quarterback he has to be able to make all the throws. If a qb can't make all the throws, he better know how to run.
Going forward, not everyone has the athletes to do what Michigan did. PSU can. Wisky is not as talented but they will make us do the very same thing. After that I don't think anyone is capable of that on our schedule.

When you have fewer blockers to block rushers, that’s not on the line coach. It’s on the coordinator followed by the head coach

Did you watch the Paulsen's try and move? It's embarrassing to even think they are on the field. They seriously can't even pick their legs up to run. Stanley is just brutal, sees a blitz, freezes, then kind of spins away from it and turns his back to it. Awful performance. Looked like a high school offense on the field today. Wirfs and Jackson did themselves no favors today at all either.

Which makes it even worse that we had no answer for it. Brown does what he does, and will continue to do it even if you burn him a few times. He knew Stanley couldn't handle the pressure and took advantage of it.
