Nebraska transfers

Collins thus far is 11th, 11th, 10th, 9th, T 5th. Not proven yet.
True I wouldn't say he's necessarily proven either. But due to getting them to the dance and finishing 5th in BIG in a what have you done for me lately world of college hoops he's raised his stock. If he were to have wanted to jump ship he could have very easily gotten himself another gig. I think he's holding out for Duke. He's gotta be on their short list for replacing coach K now whenever that day comes. No way he's got 3 or 4 more yrs left does he? If Collins can keep Northwestern relevant and not tank I think he'll be right in line for it.

Not that it won't happen, cuz you never know....but John Feinstein, who is pretty close with Collins, has indicated quite a few times on his show that Collins (and Wojo at Marquette, for that matter) have no interest in the Duke job when Coach K retires. They are looking to build their own program and legacy.

Didn't Roy Williams say something similar while at Kansas? And it could be argued that Collins has already left a legacy at NW- having taken them to the tourney after... how many years??

Yeah that's one of those things they just have to say. They'd be disrespecting wherever they currently are if they spoke like that. Not to mention coach K who as of now hasn't even remotely hinted at when he'll hang up his whistle.
We have a recent example. Ewing was asked not long ago prior to DT3 getting fired if he’d want that gig and he gave all the PC type of answers you’d expect about not wanting it. Well what a difference a couple weeks made with him. Now the Alford situation who knows what that was all about. There’s probably more to that we just don’t know as to why he didn’t want to go back.

Kind of ironic. Coaches wanting to build their own legacy and players prefer going to blue bloods to be part of a group. I gues they're no different than the pros now days.

Jacobson is transferring out of Nebraska too. Miles probably promised the incoming transfers starting jobs and that upset the guys already there. Jacobson is from Iowa, and he always seemed to have a good game against the hawkeyes so I'm glad he is gone. Maybe he will end up at Iowa state.

The fuskers are up to 4 players jumping ship right now. Miles must be wearing a wetsuit because that ship is sinking.

Possible but ISU has several guys they are higher on this transfer season. If ISU picks up Jacobson, you know things have gone really sideways this spring.

Just read that due to graduation and transfers, Nebraska is losing over 89% of their rebounds from last season. Ouch
