Nebraska transfers

Horne and Morrow are transferring out of Nebraska. It will be interesting to see who turns pro, and who transfers out of the different conference programs. I think Iowa State recruited Horne so maybe they will be in the running for him.

Oh man as an ISU fan I'd love to get Morrow. Gotta think this about puts the nail in the coffin for Miles though.

They literally just publicly came out in favor for Miles - but this is getting like the Lick years at Iowa - best players leaving every season. Morrow is a stud and he was actually recruited by Fran pretty heavily I believe but he was a Nebraska Legacy. It's too bad Iowa has absolutely NO room for a guy like him.

Melo going pro - Nebraska steps even further back - I like it, let's get some separation. I imagine if Iowa is having any guys leave the program it's gonna trickle out in the next few days.

I am really surprised that Morrow is leaving. He was the player that held that team together. I have a feeling they will definitely take a step back next year. I wonder what affect this will have on Watson.

I am really starting to feel for Miles. He seems like a likable coach, just can't seem to catch a break. Maybe he should start pursuing other opportunities while he still can.

Morrow will be a solid pick up for whomever lands him. I don't think it's even worth it for Iowa to try because of the number of post players they already have in the fold. Plus we're in the B10 as well and I'm sure he'll go elsewhere. He'll make some team better though.

I agree with Casey^ about Miles. He does seem like a good guy and a likable coach who just can't catch a break. Nebraska basketball is a tough sell to any recruit. It's hard to say how much of this disaster is his fault and how much of it is just a bad situation that he got himself into.

For real. What could be THAT BAD at Nebraska that you would forego 2 more years as a guaranteed starter to sit out a year and go elsewhere?

They have had deflections every season since he's got there, and every year it's typically their best or most promising players that leave. Sound familiar ? Pettaway left early with no real shot of being drafted -

Just off the top of my head

Pettaway - Left for the NBA draft and had NO fucking way of being drafted
Pitchford - See Pettaway
Andrew White - Left with 1 year remaining after transferring and goes to Cuse for his final season
Horne - probably one of the biggest upside offensive players on the team
Marrow - There best post player in the Miles era.

I'll be shocked if he's still coaching by the end of the day.

Lost confidence that a Husker bball program is going anywhere. I love it they built that new arena and they still suck.

That list puts Todd Licklighter to shame.

It's not just basketball you're changing either. You have to be willing to say goodbye to all of your friends and teammates and uproot your whole life.

They looked like they might turn the corner about a year or two ago it seemed like. I kinda like Miles he seems like a sincere guy. Some cultures and their circumstances just won't allow a resurrection. It's what makes jobs like what Collins has done at NW so impressive. What Miles is going through there is more the norm. You might get a glimmer of hope but then back to reality...

Hell, it makes the job McCaffery has done at Iowa very impressive.

Michael Jacobson is out - it's actually unbelievable. Maybe Iowa could get Glynn Watson to come to Iowa at this point as they seem to jumping off a sinking ship. Maybe Nebraska could replace Wichita State in the Valley so they can win some basketball games next season. It's nuclear in Lincoln right meow.

Collins thus far is 11th, 11th, 10th, 9th, T 5th. Not proven yet.

100% agree and if you could have taken a poll on here after the 2014 season I bet 50% would have taken Miles over Fran. People were gushing over him and were upset Iowa was in the play in game.
