Nebraska overrated?

In the polls Nebraska is listed above Iowa. I find this bewildering!
I realize they are riding on their past name recognition with voters, but I just have a couple of points to make that ANY voter/analyst should be examining:
1. Nebraska is starting a redshirt Freshman at QB who looks great running the ball (ala, Denard Robinson) but looks very poor throwing the ball. Very rarely does a first year starter whose tendency to run, end up doing very well for the duration of the season (see Terrell Pryor's first year or Tate Forcier last year).
2. Nebraska's ONLY big win last year was against Arizona in a bowl game. Iowa also beat Arizona last year.
3. Iowa has a three year starter at QB whose record as a starter is 20-4! Experience at QB really does matter.
4. Both teams have great defenses. That's a wash. Who would argue that Nebraska has a better defense than Iowa?
5. Both teams have decent skill position players returning this year. That's a wash (although, I believe that Iowa's receivers are much better).

I have watched each team play every game the last two years. I even attended the opening game this year in Lincoln.

Iowa looks much 'cleaner' and more physical.

add Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Boise St, to the list. I think Iowa can play agianst anyone in the country. This is the most skilled team and strongest defense we have ever had. Our running back duo I believe is tops right up there with Alabama when Ingram becomes healthy.

Nebraska is ranked higher based on two factors:

1.) Reputation (10%)
2.) Easier schedule (90%)

Unfortunately the polls don't reflect who the voters think the "better" team is. They reflect an analysis of the entire schedule and the fact that the Nebraska team has a better chance of going unscathed. The pollsters are trying to be prescient, not accurately reflect the strength of the teams.

We will be rated ahead of them at the end of the season, that is the only poll that matters. Nebraska has yet to beat a rated team in Bo's tenure at Nebraska. May be tough for him to do that this year...have you seen their schedule...JOKE. Also their defense is very underwhelming right now...

Ditto with the previous posters - the polls dont mean squat right now. BUT, I do agree NE is overrated, both offensively and defensively. They had what, 110 yards in the air against Idaho? And gave up 280 yards and 17 pts on D. The week before they gave up 300 yards on D to Western Kentucky, 0-12 last year, recent coaching change AND no more than a coule of years ago weren't even a D-1 program

im worried about arizona its going to be a tough game after that win i'll start worrying about nebby

Yeah, why did they jump up two spots after beating W. Kentucky?

I don't really know if I'd say NE is overrated or not, but I would DEFINITELY say Oklahoma is. They almost got beaten by Utah State, then beat the stuffing out of a bad FSU team at home (I don't care what you say, that team didn't deserve its ranking either). Meanwhile, Iowa has beaten both of our opponents 35-7 and those two TD's shouldn't have even happened (Hyde should have covered against EIU and ISU should have more class than to play their first string against our third). As a result, Iowa gets JUMPED by Oklahoma in the Coaches' Poll. Give me a break. This from a team that barely finished above .500 this year? Stomach-turning.

It is unbearable here in Nebraska. They actually think they are that good. Way overrated. Freshman QB is untested, no recievers to speak of, so-so defense. I think they fumbled 8 times against Idaho, but got lucky and recovered most of them. They are running their mouth hard around here. Can't wait for them to get beat, maybe sat at Washington. Iowa is a top 5 team, NU is 15th or so. Judging by all the Iowa haters on the local sports talk, they must be really scared of Iowa. Until they get beat, living in the sea of red sucks, Go Hawkeyes! Go Huskies, beat Nebraska!

Washington was supposed to be one of their tougher games, but they aren't doing so hot right now either....
Anyone else remember the stat they showed during the game Sat that showed the top ten teams and the remaining games they have with top 25 teams.... Nebby has 1. Give me a break.
Boise State called and said your schedule was easy.
