From Huskerboard. One thread talks about a petition to get the AD or the Admin to do something. This is one of the related posts. Hope plenty of Iowa fans can make the trip there. Ticket prices on stub hub still fairly high for a losing team without a lot of hope.

You talk with wallets. Wanna make that petition? Wanna be heard? Sell your iowa tickets to iowa fans. or give them to Iowa fans.
 
IF we make it there 11-0 .......... I would love to see a large Iowa contingent.

Should there be a repeat of 2002 when we tore the goal post down at the Metro dome?

I would love to see this heat up as a true rivalry, but we need to beat them a few times in a row. Really sucks that we should have won the last 2. Hopefully winning 2 in a row at Mem stadium would help.

I was at the Metrodome for that game in '02. Remember them playing the loud noises insides the dome afterward to try to get Iowa people to leave. We did not go out on the field but did witness the goal post removal. That was never a true home stadium for the Gophers. The security then was horrendous. I am guessing the security in Lincoln would be much greater and one might get hauled off if running out on the field to extract goal posts. Maybe they have the dogs like Iowa has had at times. Don't mess with the trained German Shepherds.

If I didn't have to go through a bunch of bs to sign up for their site I would have left some form of comment that yes please give me your tickets. Good for western Iowa fans to make a shorter trip to see the Hawks play.

We did go to last Iowa game there in Lincoln when we beat them handily and was first time there. Nice environment (especially when we won).

So they get rid of this coach, now what? What decent coach in their right mind would take that job? Nebraska fans may not realize it but their sense of entitlement and their Administration responding to it is hurting their football program.

Maybe they'll bring back Solich. Just pretend like the last 12 years never happened. They could start with a press conference with Tom Osborne at the podium announcing his retirement and the promotion of Solich to head coach. Husker fans live in a fantasy world anyway, they'd never know the difference.
 
Mike Riley is 62 years old. They are going to be hiring a new coach within the next 5 years, I would think, anyway.

It was a dumb hire from the start. What a mess they've got going on over there. (I love it!)

Whoever they do hire should wear a Tom Osborne mask at the podium. Followed by an immediate announcement that they are leaving the Big Ten in favor of the Big 12.

Especially, considering they could have hired Scott Frost and probably got him on discount.
 
I so wish I wasn't going to be in southern Illinois for thanksgiving. I would be there in a heartbeat.
 
Yeah its crazy what's going on over there. If I was a Neb fan. (and i'm most certainly not. I'd dump Riley now. Why wait past the end of the season? It'll take him 3 to 4 yrs at minimum to rebuild and by then he's got one foot out the door to be retiring assuming he even can get it rebuilt. Problem is there are some good jobs open again that they'd be competing for coaches with... But they don't need a "big name" They much like us need the right fit. And them hiring Riley after dumping Bo if nothing proves that point.
 
Now is the perfect opportunity to for them to go get a young legacy guy named Scott Frost the OC at Oregon. They tried it with a defensive guy in Pelini who they should have had go to anger management classes rather than fire him but they did 2 Solich's now with Solich and Pelini, so they sort of get what they deserve.

Fired big winner Solich and hired Callahan to go into pig sty, then hired 9 win Pelini and fired him for old journeyman coach Riley.

May as go out on a limb like they did with a young Osbourne.
 
We actually should probably want Nebraska to beat Michigan State this weekend so that it creates some potential distance between us and Mich State if the Rose Bowl looks at rankings. Hard to want Huskers to win though. This seems almost like a win / win type situation. If Nebraska wins it sort of kinda helps us potentially and if they lose well that just is good too since the misery will continue.
 
That would be so awesome to see! I still love seeing Nebraska lose each and every time (even though they left the big 12) :)

The AD Eichorst was a protege of Barry Alvarez and was recommended by him. The whole thing was a masterful ploy by Wisconsin to undermine a B1G West foe!

I'm glad they fired Pelini. He won too many games, had some decent bowl wins, and would have eventually got them that conference championship, I believe. If they want to have a revolving door for coaches over there, that's fine with me.

The fuskers are kind of sunk right now. They are still paying for BP and if they let Riley go they will have to pay him also PLUS pay the new coach. Now I know fusker land has money but paying for 3 coaches is a little crazy. Loven the fuskers! Lol They have worked their way into lose lose scenario. Lol
