Nebraska DT Bryson Williams Strengthens Bond with Hawkeye Staff

Sorry, but I don't recall ever doing that. I gave you the reasons why Plumb was not high on our list. It had nothing to do with whether or not he was deserving. Maybe if he came to our attention, impressed us, and said yes to our offer earlier in the process but he didn't.

One more thing, I guarantee you that every major program in America had more offers out than they had openings.

Plumb got an offer from Wisconsin on May 17. He committed to Iowa on June 26. So since Plumb didn't jump on his offer in a matter of a week or two, then Wisconsin doesn't want him? That makes no sense, as Wisconsin doesn't just give out offers, and Plumb was one of only 5 OT Wisconsin had an offer to at the time.

Nothing of what you are saying makes any sense at all.

Makes perfect sense to me. As I said "Maybe if he came to our attention, impressed us, and said yes..... earlier". By the time he was offered we had the OL we wanted bad (Furtney 3/14) and were looking good for the TE we cherished (Franklin) who eventually committed on 6/12 two weeks before Plumb committed to the Hawkeyes. Moreover, as I said earlier we were pushing the limit of our recruiting class and still had great need for a DB and NT. We just got those over the last two days and it is believed our recruiting is done for 2018. Any more from Wisconsin you want you probably won't find us fighting too hard to protect.

You got a good one in Plumb. IF he wished to be a Badger, he picked a poor time to matriculate. Our shelves were stocked full at both OL and TE and we just weren't going to take more than one of each. Unless, Ruckert committed then we would have moved Franklin to D.

This is what I don't understand, Bob. Why state that so and so got the better? No one knows until they suit up and get on the field. Our BEST receivers over the last 5 years have been walk-ons and our best QB was one too. Let the guys play and work to deserve their accolades. Hopefully, both Shannon and Williams make both programs proud.

"Let the guys play and work to deserve their accolades."

And yet here you are on a rival recruiting message board talking about a recruit who has never suited up in college......Am i the only one seeing the irony?

What irony? It's a recruiting message board for a team I follow closely. We've been talking about recruits. I've not dissed one or nor have I been over the top with any while DISCUSSING those recruits both Wisconsin and Iowa were interested in.

Does it bother you that much that somebody else has interest in the Hawkeyes?
