Nebby struggling in B10

Losses at home in their first two B10 games by an average of 18.5 points. Just lost to tOSU by 31. Whar the ISU fan who said Nebby's program was "Lightyears" in front of ours?

This. The only men's sports Nebraska has been consistently good in are football and baseball.

Actually, baseball has been on the skids the last few years as well, which is why Osborne fired Mike Anderson following last season, and promoted Darin Erstad.

Basketball had their heyday back in the 90's under Danny Nee, who while able to take them to the Big Dance, was never able to get that elusive win in the first round. IIRC they made it as high as a #4 ranking before tanking towards the end.

Outside of that, Nebraska basketball has been middle of the pack at best. People are calling for Doc Sadler's head, especially with the need to sell seats in the new downtown arena being built.

They have looked really bad as of late, just as Iowa has played a bit better. My original point was that in the past 3-4 years they have been much better. They have wins over #2,#11,#24, #17, #16, #25,#22 ranked teams. Pretty solid. I dont think most people realize that.

They have had a 19 and 18 win season.

This year they are actually pretty poor. Getting blown out in their games and looking bad. I would have never figured Iowa would be favored to beat them in both games just a few weeks ago... it would have been hard to argue my point back when I predicted that.

I just hope that Iowa's win was greatly due to their vast improvement, vs Wisconsin laying an egg. We all miss relevancy of the programs in the state for basketball.

I do not think the Big Ten brought Nebraska to the conference due to their "prestigious" basketball program. :D

The Nebraska AD isn't even sure if they have a program.

Not sure what the OP is referring to...I've heard some knucklehead Cyclone fans, but let's get real, not even the average, or below average, Cyclone fan said any such thing with any level of seriousness. To push buttons, maybe, but even then...there are better topics for that for Cyclone fan.

UNL will likely still be favored for the Iowa game at Devaney. They have played two of the better teams in the conference so far.

Who cares? Basketball does not work like that at all.

Beating Nebraska and PSU 4 x would be huge. Sprinkle in a couple mild upsets at home and a decent year could be salvaged. 14-16 wins would be measureable progress and with a break or two, might have us knocking on a NIT or "other" invite. Still holding on to the dream of drawing the Lobos in a NCAA tourney game in a year or two and knocking them out.
