I wondered about that, too. I guess the intent was to keep the clock running since Butler was out of timeouts. But if Stiff makes the second free throw all Butler can do is tie on a miracle three-pointer, not win, as very nearly happened.

Bad strategy, IMHO, on Coach K's part. But it worked for him.

I was surprised he made the first; missing the second was probably a little easier for him. More natural, probably.

That guy is ******* terrible. That being said, I'm glad the board has adopted the nickname that I gave him way back in the early part of the thread.

Agree 100%. I think they should have tried to make the 2nd FT so the long shot would only tie. That is different than Michigan State missing their FT while only up 1.

SR's buddy Zubek may have missed anyway, but I thought the strategy was questionable.
