National Signing Day

So do we have ink on Trey yet?? Having this young man sign is going to be a great thing for the Hawks! Seeing Atwood's name on the dotted line would be spectacular as well!

I see Dickerson and Gesell in the backcourt at the same time being a fantastic combo. After watching Boatright and Napier storm to the title, I have been thinking of Trey & Mike G playing together. Not comparing, just dreaming... Their defense will be telling, as I think the offense will be there next year with a good supporting cast, which I believe will be there.

And Siva and Smith did the same for Louisville last year...

Wow we go from Boatright and Napier to Siva and Smith.

Siva was a second round pick in the NBA pick #56
Smith is pegged as a second round pick in the NBA pick #17

Boatright does not project as being drafted but was the 42nd best high school player in his class per rivals.
Napier is pegged as a first round NBA pick as the #29 pick.

How in the heck to Mike and Trey compare at all to that group of palyers? They are all shorter guys?

Well Marble reminded me of Hardaway JR and Hardaway JR made it to the NC game... I mean this is quite a stretch I have seen in this thread.

Don't think they are comparing them to those guys when it comes to ability, what they are saying is that we could run 2 pg's at once like UCONN and LOUISVILLE. And how is someone a second round pick at #17 and someone is a first round pick at #29, that is kind of confusing me.

I would think Fran is smart enough to play his best players reguardless of position. Position is really over-rated for the most part. Put your 5 best players on the floor as much as possible to give yourself the best chance.

I probably was in a hurry when typing.

Of course that Louisville team was good they had what 3 NBA players maybe a 4th? Pitino is not an idiot who cares if Siva and Smith are both shorter guys you play them at the same time as they are some of his best players. Why play some 6'6 dope at the 2 guard just because he is 6'6. The idea of the 1-5 is pretty much dead in basketball.

Napier is projected to be a first round NBA pick at pick #29
Boatright does not project to be drafted in the NBA draft but he is a very good player. He was rated as the 42nd best player in his class and the 9th best PG in his class. It's safe to say he is better than Dickerson or Gesell.

That was my point. I don't think position matters one bit and if these guys are the better players on the Team why not start: Mike G, Dickerson, Jok/Uthoff, White, Woody/Gabe

I think most people say hey, two shorter guys started on teams that won the NC so Iowa should do it. Well those guys all happend to be in the top 4 talent wise on there team so of course they played a lot.
