Nate Stanley

I noticed he keeps shrinking in size. A year ago he was listed as 6' 5", a few months ago at 6' 4", now he's 6' 3". Pretty soon he'll be 6 foot I guess.

I noticed this too this year with multiple players. Stanley went from 6-5 to 6-4. Ojemudia went from 6-2 to 6-1. I want to say Stone went from 6’ to 5-11. Lattimore even went down 2” from 6-5 to 6-3. Maybe they’re trying to be more honest about dimensions? I believe there were more as well.

Stanley runs a little like an offensive linemen to me. He's a little stiff throwing on the run...but then again...I don't care what it looks like...as long as the ball gets where it's supposed to go.

Once a game, it seems lately, it goes right to a guy in the other jersey but for the most part it gets to where it needs to go.

The first part is wrong, but not terrible. The second part is egregious. You haven't lived until you've seen lumbering Big Ben jog and slide for a seven yard first down. The guy looks ridiculous running but somehow always picks up more yards than you would expect.

Lived in Cincinnati. Ex-wife went to Miami of Ohio. Ben is similar to Stanley- he is never going to be confused with Aaron Rogers, or Russell Wilson. In 15 years, Ben has 451 total rushing yards with a long of 31. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RoetBe00.htm

Tom Brady in 17 years has 983 yards with a long of 22. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BradTo00.htm

In contrast Steve Young had 4239 in 15 years with a long of 49. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/Y/YounSt00.htm

You don't scheme for Ben to run. He can lumber, but he's not a running qb.

You’re right, but the contention wasn’t that the Steelers scheme for Roethlisberger to run.

It seems to me that the "fear of failure" playing for Kirk overwhelms and influences most QBs that play for Iowa, even those with great physical talent.

He has a lot of potential. Amazing how Jared Goff bloomed with a new coach who is offensive minded and likes to "go for it" rather than worry about what bad things might happen.

I see Stanley as an NFL draft pick steal if he goes to the right team and coaching staff.

Do you have a book filled with Kirk narratives or do you come up with these on your own?

I just read that it's going to be a windy out Sat... Like 20 - 40 mph gusts... That may have some impact on the passing game

NFL execs and coaches really don't want their QB's running downfield. In their eyes, that's what WR, TE and RB are for. Now having pocket presence and being able to scramble to lengthen plays, they like.

And typically they have more money wrapped up in the QB position than any other, and they definitely want their ROI. Freak accidents happen all the time (like what happened to Garoppolo) but hard hits on runs that lead to injuries happen a lot more frequently.
