Nate Stanley moved to a 4 star on scout

With Stanley coming on board in 2016, and CJ back for his senior year with Weigers, Boyle and Cook as well, I wonder how that all shakes out. I still think Boyle eventually ends up at safety and Cook at TE, but we'll see.

I'll guess Michigan or another blue blood started recruiting him and thus the increase in status.

I meant to include him on the post and just flat out missed it.....which was why I talked about Boyle and Cook moving. Will have 2 four-star QBs in Wiegers and Stanley that seem to fit our offense....

Boyle won't be moving anywhere. Wouldn't shock me at all to see him play ahead of Wiegers after CJ graduates.

Look, Boyle was a great QB in HS, but Div I college is a totally different dog. Not saying he won't ever play at that level, but there is a lot to learn & Wiegers already has some time under his belt in the system. I actually think Wiegers is a formidable QB. I think Boyle can get there but I don't think it will be passing up Wiegers next year.

Don't underestimate the value of Boyles legs though. We can see what a difference a team makes when you have a QB that can pick up occasional first downs scrambling. While Boyle might not be the best throwing QB of the bunch, he is far and away the best runner and athlete which is something our offense needs.

Most of our really good seasons under KF we have used running QB.

Again it is one of those nice situations because if Wiegers is really good 4* type Qb and he gets beat out by boyle or stanley or another qb then that is great for Iowa.

CJ beat out a decent QB in Rudock and it really panned out great for the hawks.

Right or wrong, I look at Boyle and I think AJ Derby....In the next year or 2 he is going to have to make a decision on what he wants to do.

These new facilities are even making our recruits better before they get here.

It's called the CJB effect.

I'm not underestimating his legs at all. Actually, in my mind that was the one attribute that might give him a chance. I was estimating his time in the system learning the position which I think Wiegers has an advantage. We all know what KF is like.

This is cool for Stanley to get this recognition.. but he would have been the same recruit with the same abilities had they not given him the star. It looks like he is a good prospect and hawks have a lot of potential at the qb position for the foreseeable future

Boyle has some ridiculous measureables for a QB if I recall. Combined with the athlete he is, and knowing offense, he could be dangerous on D.

I feel like any time a player gets enough recognition AFTER committing to Iowa to get bumped up to a 4 star must be pretty damn good.
