This whole class is a great get. The funny thing is you don't hear the clone fans saying anymore about how Brands can't recruit and needed the VT transfers to come to Iowa to get the Zalesky mess cleaned up. Iowa is going to be loaded for years to come.
 
You don't hear Clone fans saying much of anything. They are about the 20th best program in the nation right now.
 
wow, was a really slow start, but now the recruits are rolling in! how many schollies do we have to give?
 
There is no real limit on how many scholarships you can give as long as they all add up to 9.9 total scholarships. That could be basically 10 full rides or 40 .25% rides.
 
I can't start a new topic on my iPad so will put it here. Just curious what's going on with Dziewa? How come we haven't heard anything about him. He is a big time blue chipper? Will he have Montells spot next year?

Mark Ballweg should be the front runner for the spot at 141 next year. Dziewa missed the entire year last year with injury and that didn't do him any favors. He should be good but he is still only a redshirt freshman.
 
For those that haven’t seen Skonieczny wrestle, I highly suggest watching the linked video. He absolutely destroys Quinton Murphy who was ranked 13th nationally and was a three-time New York State Champ at the time of the match. You got to love the kid’s motor. What an incredible recruiting class this is turning out to be and it's not even done yet! This class may shape out to be the best recruiting class ever with the scholarships available.

I apologize but I do not follow wrestling. What is Iowa's biggest issue, weight wise and can any of these guys be immediate impact wrestlers for Iowa?
 
This is an outstanding class that addresses some spots that will be opening up soon as upper classman graduate. Clark/Gilman/Carton should fill in quite nicely at 125 or 133 (if Ramos goes down to 125 his senior year) when McDonough graduates next year. Sam Brooks, although not as highly ranked, may have the most immediate impact. Iowa has a pretty big hole at 197 that he could fill as soon as next year, although I suspect they’ll redshirt him and have Lira battle at 197 again next year. If we get Burak or Jordan Rogers on board, I think it’d be huge. Klapprodt is the only 184 we have that could replace Gambrall when he graduates next year so depth is certainly a concern here. We need another heavyweight to push Telford next year besides walk on Thomas Heiderscheit so they could pick another heavy up late in this class or wait till next year and throw the barn at Brooks Black. Witte isn’t projected at a need weight but he’s a stud and would be a great addition as well if we are able to land him.

loved the video thanks gabe. it appears that his mechanics and body positioning are very good. Reminds me of watching Lincoln in his day. Very buisness like and never slowing down ( i guess i could say that about a bunch of guys that have gone through the iowa way). Can't wait for this season to get rolling!!
