But Fran has us headed in the right direction. Bonus. Extension.Wait....so we lose the game by 30 points AND the numbers look bad?????
Iowans are easy to please...not like the SEC and PAC10...
Hey, another bowl!!! NIT win!!!!!
What would u propose? Fire Fran? You are drunk if you can't see what Fran has done and what he has coming.
Young team and not a big surprise they fell flat after a big win. May have been a little to high on themselves. Learning experience. I think going in the right direction.
I think Fran and the "product" he has right now, and into the next two years offers exciting, hope. that is powerful and keep the dogs at bay. Plus, he hasn't been here that "long" in terms of Iowa patience. Fran is trending upbeat and exciting, including his two talented sons. An elite PG would be the missing link...
Kirk has been here a long time and getting a "bowl" is pretty much meaningless since, what, 100 teams get to go to them. And, being embarrassed in bowl games, on a national stage, repeatedly, by "name" teams, the ones we want to be like, offers a sense of hopelessness and status quo. Kirk is trending boring and poorly coached with little at the skill positions. His exciting change is hiring his son as OC. OK, got it...
A tale of two cities...as it were...
My two cents...

The loss wasn't totally unexpected, for sure. But my God, to have lost by 35 points - the largest margin of defeat at the hands of Northwestern EVER. It makes it harder for a program to move forward with these kinds of losses. What worries me is not just the magnitude of these road losses, but that this team seems to be so intimidated on the road you can't help but wonder how rare road wins are going to be in the next few years. I would hate to think that Iowa has to begin each B1G season with the assumption of 9 road losses right off the bat. The Purdue blow-out wasn't a shocker. This Northwestern debacle is very troubling..
Before this game, we really only played terrible for the first 7 minutes of the Purdue game. The rest of that game and the Nebraska game we actually played pretty good.
This last game was just like the start of the Purdue game where the other team was on fire and we struggled. The biggest difference between the two games is with about 8 minutes to go and the outcome already decided, they poured it on us at the same time we called it a night.
Where as with Purdue, both teams coasted until the end which is normally what happens in a blowout. I think Northwestern wanted to prove a point, while we had already conceeded. I highly doubt it affects the rest of the season.
