Myers, Kittle on new 2-Deep, Croston is Not

I think it's a high ankle sprain. They're pesky.

Was Croston playing hurt against jNW? I wonder because in the Minny radio pregame KF said he has had a lingering injury which is why they moved him to right tackle against Minny. Or did he hurt the ankle against Minny while nursing a different leg injury.

If these guys are playing sub par because they are hurt then it is time for the backup to come in.

Not sure about the timeline. I do know whatever kept him out last week, which I think was the high ankle, happened at Minnesota.

How reliable are these? Are the coaches generally pretty forthright?

I think during a week like this one where Wisconsin is listing Vince Biegel as questionable, there's some gamesmanship. It's fine to keep the opponent guessing.

What's the point of releasing a 2 Deep lineup anyway, especially if you're allow to play games with it? Are there any repercussions for not releasing one?

Nah. I think it's just standard operating procedure. The NFL requires accurate injury info, but CFB does not.

I'm not saying it's all mind games. I do think coaches give the two-deep to sports information on Sunday based on what they know. So, who knows what happened at practice today or will happen the rest of the week.

You know when I'd be interested in this 2 Deep? If I saw King listed on it at WR; re-watching him on his Pick 6, the guy can catch AND run. Now, that would make for some good conversation, while messing with Wisconsin at the same time.

I think they're worried about overusing Desmond, which I can understand. Maybe they should let McCarron return punts and kicks and play King on offense.

I get that, to some extent, but then I look at Jabrill Peppers and wonder, why not? Is King more susceptible to being worn out - not buying it. He wouldn't need an in depth knowledge of the offense, but he would certainly be a weapon and a distraction to the defense. It's not a knock on any of the current WRs, but why not add to the mix? To counter my own point, it's probably too late into the year to start this - if it was to happen, it should have started in the Spring.

King isn't in the same league as Peppers, come on.. Also, there is more to playing receiver than straight line speed. You actually have to be able to run a route, get in and out of your breaks, etc. King is not a receiver. King will play safety if he makes it in the NFL.

most CB at Iowa transition to safety in the NFL. Historically they have been able to have lengthly careers doing it too.

Agreed. King is damned good, but he's not an elite athlete like Peppers. Not to mention we need him much more on defense, as last week shows that the next CB's in still have some work to do.

high ankle sprains are terrible. They take forever to heal and if you try to come back too soon you'll likely reinjure it. I had two of them in high school, they keep you out about 3 weeks or more, no amount of taping helps.
