My thoughts on Woodbury after seeing him play

He was throwing Abrahamson around like a rag doll. He is tough, strong, and agressive and I think he is going to be nasty in a couple years.

Did not see this at all. I sat at midcourt, four rows up and focused strictly on Woodbury. Woodbury was doing anything BUT throwing people around. He has a lot of work to do in regard to upper body strength.

Woodbury was slow and very weak. No way he is a "bully" until MAYBE is senior year. A guy that tall doesn't bulk up in one or even two years. If he is not large now, he never will be.

From what I saw, he does have a LOT OF WORK to do to play in the BIG. I see him as a contributor by his Junior year. He needs to put on 40 pounds at least.

get off. the he needs weight to play in the BT, Leonard of Illinois weighs 245 lbs, Zeller of I ndiana weighs 225 lbs and Sampson III of Minnesota weighed 241 as a senior, he does not need weight what he needs is conditioning to play at the next level

Herby I agree with you 100%!! I don't always agree with you but I do like differing opinions and you are an entertaining poster to boot...

Adam does not need to lose weight. He just needs to lift some weights to add strength and then get into good cardio and basketball shape. I don't see a frail looking guy, he is kind of weak but he is only 17 years old. He will be fine if he adds strength and is in good condition.

It gets so overblown saying guys need to add like 30 pounds. These are basketball players not football players.

Fear the Wood, their students had shirts with this on it. Kinda funny. Anywho, Valley was not going to let him beat them which is the approach defensively that I'm sure most teams he plays against use. Valley played some kind of junk defense that looked to me like a triangle and 2 and they used the triangle(2 of which were Jok and Abrahamson) to pack it in on Woody and not let him have the ball. They did a pretty good job with it but then it was basically shooting practice for some of the other players and they made them pay. So again it is hard to get a read on him offensively. When he actually did get the ball in the post he turned it over a couple times. He does pass well and run the floor for a big man. Defensively he blocks and changes a lot of shots as you would expect and of course he gets after it on the boards.

Basically what I got from watching him is that he has a lot of work to do which I think most of us expected. That being said I think he has a couple things that you can't teach. Size being the obvious but what I was impressed with was his agressiveness. He is already strong but if he gets in the weight room he will be the bully of the B1G. He was throwing Abrahamson around like a rag doll. He is tough, strong, and agressive and I think he is going to be nasty in a couple years. Just don't expect too much next year. As some have said he doesn't need to be a scorer to contribute next year.

agree 100%

I recommend thicker glasses then. I was also midcourt and noticed on at least 2 occasions with regards to Abrahamson. He was also moving Jok around but he had to be careful with fouls. The crowd was already b!tching every time he posted up. I'm not saying he doesn't need to get stronger to play in the B1G(in fact I did say that) but he is strong. I'm not sure what you expected.

lets see what Fran can do with him, coaching can go along way, Webber is not a good coach, Crean got everybody to stay healthy this year and it showed, Woodbury will be prepared to play and get his minutes that allows him to play well, look at White, getting 15-20 minutes a game while he adjusted to the college level, then when he started has gotten 25-32 minutes a game and produced and appears to have grown up in maturity and development where he no longer plays like a freshmen, at the right time
