I agree. That play was near our seats and the ref was in a perfect spot to make the call. It had better be pretty obvious if you are going to overturn the call. I didn't see the replay, so maybe it was.

My understanding of the rule (which may be completely off) is that the ball can't shift in the receiver's hands when he's out of bounds and be called a catch. Given that, the moment I saw the replay, I knew that TD was coming off the board. the ball obviously shifted in his hands.

Again, it's quite possible that I am misunderstanding the rule (LEARN THE GAME), and it's just a coincidence they took the score off the board.

I certainly understand the sentiment that it's a dumb rule. if you can possess the ball, break the plane, then get out of bounds, I'd be ok with a TD being awarded. But whatever. I didn't think it was a terrible call.

Most would agree that KF teams get better as the season goes. I'd have to go back to check but rarely do we ever get through the non conference part of the schedule without a loss.

I keep thinking to myself... just keep winning and it buys more time for Kirk and staff to get this team playing better.

Does it matter to any Hawk fan that, with either the weakness of Iowa's schedule or Iowa's results against said schedule, Iowa will never be in contention for the national championship?

Do you think that matters to recruits?

Factually incorrect. If the current playoff system was in place the last 12 years, Iowa would be in the playoffs in 2002, and if they beat NW and OSU in 2009, that would be twice.

If we win every game this year, we will be in the playoffs.....guaranteed. Now, lets just find a way to win each game..by one or more.
