It's amazing how far we've come from the Lick years. We have what is considered a horrible night offensively for this team , but we still put up 88 points against the best team in the country. 10 years ago we may have scored 40 points and lost by over 50. I love this team and think the sky is still the limit for them.

Yes....Yes....

I wish I could forget. I feel so bad for Gatens and Cole. Those two dudes deserved better. So did some of the others. Their just couldn't have been a worse fit as far as hiring a coach to a school. I mean how did he even get it rolling at Butler? He was there 6 yrs and tore it up most of the time. Now he's at Evansville and they are horrible. Did he have any NBA studs while at Butler or how'd he pull that off?

His assistant was Brad Stevens if I remember correctly. Now head coach of the Boston Celtics.

Butler came close to winning the National Championship with Stevens, two years in a row

Would have been two of the biggest upsets in NCAA history

Along with George Ireland's Chicago Loyola Ramblers who lost to Cinncinnati in 1963

And Don Haskin's Texas Western Minors who beat Adolph Rupp's Kentucky team in 1966

They came within a last-second shot of beating Duke in the Championship Game, 2010

Next year they lost to Connecticut in the Championship game, 2011

How sweet it would have been to have picked Stevens rather than Lickliter

Damn

Often times the assistant coaches have more on an influence than the head coaches. LIckliter got a nice contract and gig after getting the Coach of the Year. Barta salivated and did a huge bif on that hire.
