My Son says he likes watching ISU better...

...than watching the Hawkeyes. I can "save" him as he says he's still a Hawkeye first, but it goes without saying, that the younger kids are influenced by many things the Hawks are not. It's sad, but in many ways I cannot argue. We' ve become boring, predictable, unenthusiastic, and stale.

Lmao, yeah I would have enjoyed watching Nebraska pummel Iowa 52-17 like Missouri did ISU. Just because ISU pulled off a miracle and beat a top ranked team for the first time ever does not make them any more fun to watch.

Might want to have him tested for a possible cognitive impairment. I suggest the Stanford Binet IQ test.

ISU plays aggressive football, unlike us where we play not to lose or at least not to lose by more than 10. I guarantee Rhoads isn't punting twice from inside his opponents 40.

Nobody pummels Iowa. We play competitive football aganist everyone good and bad. That goes for you ISU and Minnesota.

You're right smoot, I much prefer getting creamed versus staying in these games with a chance to win.

Iowa State has been blown out three times this year.

Iowa State doesn't have the talent Iowa or many of their opponents do. I think they performed well given the expectations. I faintly remember many posters saying at the beginning of the season that ISU would be lucky to win 3 to 4 games this year and would be disappointed if Iowa didn't win 8-9. I think I could go back and copy old posts if you need proof.

I'll take a close loss over a blowout any day. It doesn't matter who thought what at the start of the season, unless they happen to be a professional clairvoyant.

Just to humor you:

twinhawkfans - "We'll see how good their secondary is at tackling when Coker is running through holes that you could drive a bus through. this may be KF's best Oline ever. Good Luck. UI 31 ISU 13"

ICAlumni - "You lose Arnaud, Robinson, Franklin, Lamaak, Sims, etc... etc... and this will be the best team you've had in awhile? You are insane."

cmhawks99 - "I personally think this is Iowa’s year….they’ll end up having even more NFL draft picks off next year’s team than this past year and they’ll win 10 games minimum, with a shot to play in the first annual Big 10 Championship game."

homes - "Prater, McNutt, Reiff - if he comes out, maybe Daniels and Binns. Who else? Hey, but I'm with you on the 10 wins."

DwayneTill - "10-2. Losses to Nebraska and some team they shouldn't lose to."

Bspringsteen - "9-3 (6-2) I just don't feel like we get out of non conference unscathed."

HawkfaninWA - "8-4 with losses to Pitt, Penn St, MSU, and Nebby."

Whammer33024 - "yup, 11-1. didn't plan to end up there, but i like our chances against every team we play. at least no one really scares me. big 10 offensive player of the year, marvin mcnutt"

cibula11 - "8 or 9 wins, but a toss up on who they lose the 3 or 4 to."

herkyattack - "We lose to Penn St, Michigan, and Nebraska. 9-3 and another Outback Bowl berth."

shadasrevenge - "Iowa isn't losing to Michigan State, people."

misterlucky - "My head tells me 8-4, but my heart says 10-2."

desmoineshawki - "9-3 ...."

The winner is : TChawk - "8-4 or 7-5 and a crappy bowl to boot"

well my argument here has a lot to do with the mental part of the game and the perceived intimidation factor. Both of which, until recently, played a factor in Iowa teams. I certainly Agree, the close losses are much better than blowouts, and unfortunately the B1G has taken a perceived step backwards in competitiveness, but where I'm at a loss for words is in the department of, "if Iowa (U) is in a much more respected conference, and has more football tradition, why do so many good players go to Big 12 schools and those schools get rated higher? Why isn't Iowa doing anything to change their emotionless approach?"
You see where this conversation between myself (iowa alum/fan) and pro-ISu father, and impressionable teenage son here has taken on a B1G v. Big 12 twist?

I might add that the current mistake prone undisciplined football that the clones (and OU) are playing today is playing right into my arguement.
