My Idea: Iowa v Nebraska on the Sat after Thanksgiving

Sooo this is kind of related to the other thread about what the trophy should be.... but since the thought of playing every year the Saturday following thanks giving is new and add in the fact I'm really special (we can all agree I'm special right?) I decided to make my own.

I think we should schedule a home and home every year with Nebraska for the Saturday following Thanksgiving. How sweet would that be? Lots of people get the Friday after off work so it would make travelling to the game easy for everyone. I know how many Nebraska fans are in the western part of the state, this would certainly spice up many Thanksgiving family outings. I can’t lie, I’m a little chubby thinking about it… In the immortal words of Cal Naughton Junior, “That’s a awesome!â€.

The trophy could be some sort of plate full of food symbolizing the fact that Iowa and Nebraska both feed a good portion of the nation… I don’t know what we’d call it… maybe the Harvest Trophy or something?

Traditionally,Nebraska has always played Colorado on Friday, the day after thanksgiving. I would be all for doing likewise. On Friday afternoon, that game has the whole nation's attention. Usually starts at 2:30,giving everyone plenty of time to travel on Thursday nite or Friday morning. It could become a featured attraction annual ''big game'' on the national calender, and the Big Ten calender...edging into OSU-Michigan territory. Of course, both programs have to be good, and typically fighting for the western division title....which I see as a real possibility if they stick with 12 and it is Minny,NW,Wisky,Ill,Iowa and Neb...Iowa-Neb could be like OSU-Michigan in that every year,it would have title ramifications for one or both teams.

And the game shall be called...Farmageddon

Winner. No better idea shall ever be concieved. The internet has officially reached it's potential. Let's get Al Gore on the line and shut this puppy down.
