My Dead Car & the Power of Twitter

I have helped out several friends in need on twitter. Changing tires giving a ride. Twitter is a very powerful social tool. I have also look to twitter for help sometimes.

Rico, I was at Starbucks, not a truck stop. I walked back in and surveyed the scene an it was mostly college aged females and I wasn't comfortable asking any of them.

I insisted three things before my daughter was allowed to take the car by herself:

1) Be able to change a tire
2) Be able to jump-start a car AND keep jumper cables where they are stored if she ever had to use them
3) Carry her AAA card with her at all times!

talk about stereotyping

Not at all. I am a stranger walking up to a girl at a starbucks asking if she can come out and help me jump start my car? Sorry, but in this day and age (sadly) I am just not going to do that. It has nothing to do with me thinking a girl wouldn't have jumper cables or wouldn't know how to do it.

Bobby, with #3, she didn't need #1 and #2. Derp. ;) :D

JD, you should cough up the dough for AAA. Shirley you can afford it?!?

Good story. Glad social media was able to work for you.
