My wish-list was to play these teams every year:

#1 Minnesota
#2 Illinois
#3 Wisconsin
#4 Michigan
#5 Penn State
#6 Nebraska

so, they did a .500 job in my book ... I didn't expect 6 out of 6, but 4 or 5 would have been nice

what were you hoping to see?

Well I would have hoped to get 5 or 6, but realistically I was hoping for pretty much what we got. Also, we will probably add one of the other 3 when we go to a 9 game conference schedule.

That's the one team on that list that I don't care about one way or the other. I'd actually prefer to play Northwestern every year (which is what we got). I'm pretty sure I'm one of very few on this board to consider that game a rivalry.
 


i am disappointed to not be playing WI or PSU very often. Illinois might as well be in the MAC - haven't played them for two years, not going to be playing them in the foreseeable future.
 


I'm not disappointed at all by this. Change is indubitable. We weren't going to get everything we wanted, but we got the best scenario we could imagine in this event. Also, things are going to be screwy the next four years until 2015 when we get to the nine game conference schedule. Once that comes I think there will be more continuity in the schedule.

Agreed. Plus when you are picking between Evanston/Chicago and Urbana? I mean come on. Also, with respect to Purdue, it is great for recruiting.
 


I thought about putting Illinois at the TOP of my list, but decided that the Goofers deserved to be there. Part of the reason I hate this alignment is that by 2013 a whole class will have not played Illinois. It's a hole in my Hawkeye heart not to get a chance to beat them every year. Growing up in Eastern Iowa (read that as the QCA, not CR/IC) Iowa/Illinois was THE rivalry. The PSU expansion harmed Iowa/Illinois by making it happen less often, but this kills it. :(
